According to Sky Sports chief reporter Kaveh Solhekol, two Premier League Big Six clubs recently enquired about Gallagher from Chelsea, but the player, after careful consideration, has decided to join Atletico Madrid.
The reporter also stated that Gallagher made his decision on his future on the evening of August 4th, and has now reached a verbal agreement with Atletico, planning to travel to Madrid for his medical today (August 5th).
It is understood that Gallagher will sign a five-year deal with Atletico for a transfer fee of €40 million.
