On August 6, according to Arsenal’s official announcement, defender Oleksandr Zinchenko will switch to the No. 17 shirt.
The club’s official statement read: “Zinchenko will switch his shirt from No. 37 to No. 17 before the start of the new season.”
Zinchenko explained his reason for the change: “The number 17 is very special to me. It’s the number I wore when I was young and I always asked to wear it when I played for my country. It became available when Cedric left and I asked if I could wear it. Thanks to everyone at the club for supporting me.”
