According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United’s player clearout this summer transfer window could see as many as 15 players leave Old Trafford.
Recently, Facundo Pellistri completed a transfer to Panathinaikos, bringing Manchester United a transfer fee of €6 million. According to data from the Transfermarkt website, Manchester United has earned approximately €66 million from player sales in this summer transfer window.
Manchester United’s player clearout plan is not over yet. Reports suggest that the club may also seek to sell four more players, including Jadon Sancho, Scott McTominay, Christian Eriksen, Hannibal Mejbri, and Victor Lindelof.
If all the aforementioned players leave, Manchester United will have 16 players leaving this summer. Previously, 11 players have left Manchester United, including Mason Greenwood, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Willy Kambwala, Alvaro Fernandez, Tahith Chong, Omari Forson, Raphael Varane, Anthony Martial, Brandon Williams, Sofyan Amrabat, and Facundo Pellistri.
To bring in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte, Manchester United may sell McTominay and Eriksen. Both players have attracted interest from multiple clubs in England and Turkey.
Meanwhile, Championship club Burnley is negotiating with Manchester United to directly purchase Hannibal Mejbri. After bringing in Matthijs de Ligt and Lenny Yoro, Lindelof’s future at Manchester United has become unclear.
Manchester United is patiently waiting for Ugarte’s arrival, with the deal expected to be finalized before the transfer window closes. The “Red Devils” plan to sign the midfielder on a loan-to-buy deal.
