The Sun reports that Man City stars partied until 1am on Thursday morning to celebrate Bernardo Silva’s 30th birthday. The party took place at a Japanese restaurant in Manchester, with many players bringing their wives or partners. Bernardo Silva’s wife Ines Tomaz, Akanji and Ake brought their partners Melanie and Kelly, and De Bruyne and Kovacic brought their partners Michelle and Ivana.
Surprisingly, returning player Cancelo also made an appearance. The Portuguese full-back spent last season on loan at Barcelona and has been training with Man City after the European Championships but didn’t feature in the Community Shield match against Manchester United.
British media pointed out that the party was mainly to celebrate Bernardo Silva’s 30th birthday (August 10), and the fact that Manchester City won the Community Shield also gave the team more reason to celebrate. The controversy is that the party lasted until 1am, and participants like Grealish, in order to avoid controversy, simply didn’t leave through the main entrance, but slipped out from the back door, through the underground passage, and left by taxi to avoid the spotlight.
Man City will face tough opponents in their Premier League opener, they will travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea on August 18th at 11:30pm.
