Zirkzee: Ibrahimovic is a player I admire a lot, but I prefer Ronaldinho

Manchester United’s official website published an interview with Zirkzee. Although he’s still getting used to speaking English, the Dutch star said his experience at Bayern will help him at Manchester United. He also revealed that he admires Ibrahimovic but prefers Ronaldinho.

Regarding Manchester United, Zirkzee said: “I think this (leaving Bologna, who are playing in the Champions League, to join Manchester United) proves a lot. I have a lot of trust in the team and I feel really good. It wasn’t a difficult decision, I love Bologna, but Manchester United gave me a very, very good feeling. I’m also very confident in the club’s future plans.”

When talking about his strengths, Zirkzee said: “I’m very creative, I have good skills with the ball, and I’m sometimes unpredictable. I like the kind of entertainment where the whole team is involved, not just me. I also think you have to please the fans who come to watch the game, make them happy about the game.”

Talking about his time at Bayern, Zirkzee said: “I think at Bayern, just like at Manchester United, you have to hold yourself to the highest standards every day. There’s not much difference. Manu (Neuer) is a great guy, arguably one of the best goalkeepers of all time, so it’s not easy to score in training at Bayern. It was an honour to train with a player like that, I had a great time at Bayern, I think when you ask any young player who was there at the time, they’ll only have good, positive things to say about Bayern, I’m grateful for that time, but I’m at Manchester United now!”

When talking about his idols, Zirkzee said: “Without a doubt, Ronaldinho is my hero! Growing up, Ibrahimovic was also someone I admired, but if I had to choose my favourite, it would be Ronaldinho.”

Zirkzee said he hopes to make his mother proud: “I hope she can forgive me for coming home late now or breaking something at home. Those were things that happened when I was younger, I would forget about the time and come home late because of football. Now everything’s fine.”
