According to David Ornstein, a well-known journalist from The Athletic, Brighton are working on a move for Leeds forward Georginio Rutter and have activated his £40 million release clause.
The report claims that the transfer hinges on Rutter’s willingness to move to the south coast.
Prior to activating the release clause, Brighton had reportedly made bids of £29 million and £35 million, both of which were rejected by Leeds.
The 22-year-old Rutter joined Leeds in the January transfer window of 2023 as the club’s record signing. He has made 66 appearances for Leeds, scoring eight goals and providing 18 assists.
