August 17th – According to Turkish journalist Ekrem KONUR, Manchester City are seriously considering signing 26-year-old Crystal Palace attacker Eberechi Eze, as a replacement for Julian Alvarez who departed this summer.
It is understood that Eze has a release clause with Crystal Palace worth approximately €70 million, but this clause is similar to a “gentleman’s agreement”, it does not explicitly appear in the contract. As long as Eze agrees to personal terms, the club will accept €70 million for his departure.
Guardiola’s team hopes to bring in Eze to fill the void in the attacking line, and Man City are prepared to pay this fee and complete the transfer before the deadline.
The 26-year-old Eze is an attacking midfielder who can play in several positions. He came through the Millwall youth system, joined QPR in 2016 and then moved to Crystal Palace in 2020 for €17.8 million. Last season he made 31 appearances for the club, starting 26, scoring 11 goals and providing 6 assists. His current market value is €55 million. He also participated in the European Championship this summer with the team, making it to the final, but did not get many chances to play.
