In the first round of the Premier League, Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United came from behind to win 1-0 at Fulham on Saturday thanks to a late winner from substitute Alejandro Garnacho. After the game, Fulham manager Marco Silva spoke to the media.
Marco Silva said: “We are disappointed with the result. It is a big setback for our players and for our supporters. Overall it was a good game, both sides were trying to win the game.”
“For us, it was important to control our emotions. When the game became open, we should have kept our balance and compact. But in that moment we lost our heads and then we conceded the goal. It became open and fractured, we were trying to rush our decisions. We started to lose the ball too quickly on many occasions. We made the game too emotional and we didn’t want to do that.”
“It really hurts to lose in this way. We had chances, and we were punished in the end. It was a crazy game, we didn’t play our game. But overall, the team reacted well, we just didn’t get the points I think we deserved.”
