According to The Athletic, Premier League CEO Richard Masters said in an interview that there are no plans to stage Premier League matches abroad.
Masters said: “I think it’s important to say that there have been some changes at FIFA, but it’s unclear exactly what they are. I must stress there are no plans to take Premier League matches abroad at present.”
“There’s not been any discussion at the Premier League board about this since that 39-game proposal you remember, which came out back in 2008.”
“Of course, I think any major changes to the competition would have to be done in consultation with fans. But I personally don’t think it will happen.”
