According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Arsenal midfielder Fabio Vieira will return to his former club Porto on loan, with both clubs reaching an agreement.
The 24-year-old Vieira joined Arsenal from Porto in the summer of 2022 for a fee of €35 million. However, his performances have not met expectations during his two seasons at the Emirates.
With Arsenal set to sign Real Sociedad midfielder Merino, Vieira’s playing time is likely to be further limited. As a result, Arsenal are looking to send him back to his former club on loan to allow him to get more consistent game time.
Reports suggest that Arsenal and Porto have reached an agreement for Vieira’s loan move, which will last for one season and does not include a purchase option. Vieira will not feature in Arsenal’s upcoming match against Aston Villa.
