August 17, the new Premier League season is underway, and Arsenal are aiming to lift the trophy. Gunners manager Mikel Arteta revealed that on the day his team lost out on the title last season, his players vowed to win the Premier League.
Arteta said: “On the day the Premier League ended last season, Arsenal players and staff had a dinner together in central London. The players all swore to me that they were going to win the Premier League. They said, ‘We’re going to do it, we want to do better, we want more.'”
Speaking about his team’s Premier League title ambitions, Arteta said: “For me, we are still a long way from perfect, but the players give me reason to dream. I see them training and playing hard, and I believe the team can improve even further. Everyone is passionate about improving, about achieving bigger things, and that is very exciting.”
