On August 12, new Chelsea signing Matheus Cunha bid farewell to his former club Wolves on Instagram, thanking them for their support.
Neto wrote on Instagram: “The decision to leave Wolves was a very difficult one for me. I had an incredible 5 years here, experiencing the highs and lows of the club, and it’s time to say goodbye. I still remember the pride and honour I felt when I first put on a Wolves shirt, this club believed in me, encouraged me, and I will never forget that. My memories here are not just about goals or wins, but the love and passion throughout the club and city, I felt a sense of belonging here, and it’s something I will never forget. Leaving is not easy, but I know this is not the end, but a new chapter in my career, I will always cherish my time at Wolves. Thank you to Wolves for everything you have done for me, I will always miss you, and I will cheer for you wherever I am.”
In the 2023-24 season, Neto played 24 games for Wolves, scoring 3 goals and providing 11 assists. This summer, Chelsea signed Neto for a fee of €60 million.
