In an interview with talkSPORT, Obi Mikel said: “We (Chelsea) don’t really need a player who breaks through, assists and creates chances, we need a player who can finish attacks on his own, score goals and take his chances. We need a player like Haaland, and that’s what Victor Osimhen can bring to Chelsea”.
British media reports that Chelsea have recently restarted talks with Napoli over a transfer for Osimhen, with the Nigerian striker hoping to leave Napoli this summer. Chelsea have always been interested in Osimhen, and Napoli manager Conte is also very interested in Chelsea striker Lukaku. If both sides can achieve a package deal, it would be beneficial for both clubs.
Mikel is very optimistic about Osimhen joining Chelsea: “I hope Chelsea fans will eventually see Osimhen join, I will text and call him to make sure Chelsea is his top priority!”
