Manchester United last week extended the contract of their key player Bruno Fernandes, who will now stay at the club until 2027. After signing his new deal, Fernandes sat down with the club’s official website to discuss the reasons behind his decision and his plans for the future.
When asked about why he chose to stay, Fernandes said: “Staying at Manchester United allows me to continue competing with the very best, and also to improve the team, which I am always trying to do. While I can’t guarantee we’ll win the league next season, I can guarantee we will be a competitive team, challenging for every trophy. The club is doing that, making every player competitive. That’s why I chose to stay, because I see that the club is pushing forward.”
Discussing the future of Manchester United, Fernandes added: “When we have new titles, new players, the whole atmosphere changes, it’s a good vibe, we need to bring that into the new season and keep that passion that we have at the start going through the whole season.”
Fernandes shared his feelings about what Manchester United means to him: “From the moment I joined Manchester United I knew it was a dream come true. Everyone knows it was my dream to join United, to play in the Premier League and I achieved both of those. I love Manchester, I’ve grown to understand the fans, the life, the city, it’s different to everywhere else. Manchester feels like home, and my wife feels the same.”
