Everton manager Sean Dyche has revealed that the club is facing a player shortage with only 14 first-team players available for the clash against Tottenham.
Everton has generated around £70 million from the sale of players like Onana this season, while spending approximately £40 million on new signings. However, it appears that they are now short of funds to continue their transfer business.
Dyche said, “Unfortunately, we are very short on personnel, with only 14 first-team players available for the game against Tottenham, which isn’t ideal.”
“We don’t have the finances to alleviate this challenge right now, so we have to work with the players we have and hopefully get them back to full fitness as soon as possible,” Dyche added. “The club has to consider any offer that comes in. We are in a good position due to player sales and wage reduction, but the problem is not resolved.”
Everton was hit with two points deductions last season for breaching Financial Fair Play rules, which nearly saw them relegated. It seems they are being more cautious this season to avoid a repeat.
