According to The Athletic, Manchester City are considering a move for Japanese striker Kyogo Furuhashi, who plays for Celtic.
The report claims that City want to sign a new striker to replace the departed Alvarez, but this new striker must accept a “rotation player” role after joining.
It is understood that City have compiled a shortlist, which includes the name of Kyogo Furuhashi.
However, City’s current priority is to re-sign Ilkay Gundogan on a free transfer. Once Gundogan is back, the club will then decide whether to sign a new striker before the transfer window closes.
Sam Lee, a Man City correspondent, revealed that Furuhashi has caught the attention of City, and personal terms will not be an obstacle as he is keen to join the club.
