August 15 Chelsea midfielder Lavia gave an interview recently, recalling how he almost missed the entire season last year due to injury and the transfer anecdote of choosing to join Chelsea instead of Liverpool.
“Last season was frustrating because it was tough,” Lavia said. “It was frustrating, but more mental, which helps me now. Injuries are inevitable. I have to say, it’s unfortunate, I’m always trying to catch up. My body let me down a few times, because I felt like I was doing everything right. I don’t blame anything.”
When asked about Chelsea beating Liverpool to sign him last year, Lavia said, “Listen, when I heard about Chelsea, that was a long time before everything started, I didn’t hesitate. Liverpool were interested in me, but in my heart, I wanted to play for Chelsea.”
When asked about his goals for the new season, the young midfielder replied, “My dream is to not miss a single game. That’s it.”
