June 29 – According to reliable transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, newly-promoted Premier League side Ipswich Town have secured the signing of Chelsea forward Hutchinson for a fee of £22m. The deal is expected to include a sell-on clause, with no buy-back option.
The 20-year-old Chelsea forward spent last season on loan at Ipswich, who were then playing in the Championship, making 50 appearances across all competitions, scoring 11 goals and providing 5 assists. He played a key role in Ipswich’s promotion to the Premier League.
The transfer would break Ipswich’s club-record fee, which was set in 2001 when they signed Matteo Sereni from Sampdoria for £4.75m.
It is understood that Hutchinson’s former club, Arsenal, will also receive a significant portion of the transfer fee due to a sell-on clause that was included in his move to Chelsea two years ago.
