British Media: Newcastle confident of extending Isak’s contract, but will gladly let him go for £100 million offer from Chelsea

According to Newcastle local media outlet The Northern Echo, Chelsea have indeed inquired about Isak with Newcastle, but Newcastle are confident of reaching a contract extension with their starting striker.

Earlier reports had suggested that Chelsea were keen on poaching Isak this summer, and were even willing to break their previous club record transfer fee set for Caicedo, with a potential bid exceeding £115 million.

However, The Northern Echo claims that Newcastle, still facing financial regulations, are adamant about not selling Isak. If Chelsea persist in their pursuit of Isak, the transfer fee would likely exceed £200 million.

Newcastle believe that Chelsea are unlikely to come up with such an exorbitant bid, or even one close to that figure.

The Northern Echo analyzes that the situation could change if Isak himself expresses his desire to leave, but the striker has repeatedly stated in interviews that he is happy at Newcastle and has no plans to depart.
