Adi straight up calls it: Snapdragon’s sponsorship deal with Manchester United is not linked to Champions League qualification

According to The Athletic, the sponsorship deal between Snapdragon and Manchester United does not include any clauses related to the club’s Champions League qualification. This means that even if the Red Devils miss out on the Champions League for consecutive years, they will still receive the full sponsorship fee.

The report states that the initial duration of the sponsorship deal between Snapdragon and Manchester United is three years, but Snapdragon can activate a clause to extend it by another two years. The annual sponsorship fee is a whopping €75 million (approximately £59.22 million).

Unlike the previous contract between Adidas and Manchester United, Snapdragon did not demand any clauses linked to Champions League qualification. Therefore, even if Manchester United fails to qualify for the Champions League for several years in a row, they won’t have to worry about the sponsorship fee being discounted.

In the previous five seasons, Manchester United has only participated in the Champions League proper on three occasions. They only managed to advance from the group stage once (21/22 season), and that lone qualification for the knockout stage ended in a Round of 16 elimination at the hands of Atlético Madrid.
