According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are set to sign 20-year-old Portuguese midfielder Renato Veiga from Swiss club Basel for a fee of €14 million, excluding any add-ons.
Renato Veiga was born on July 29, 2003, stands at 190cm tall, is left-footed, and primarily plays as a defensive midfielder, but can also operate in various positions like center-back and left-back.
Last season, Veiga made 23 appearances in the Swiss Super League, scoring 2 goals and providing 1 assist.
