Premier League club Southampton have officially announced the signing of Manchester City defender Bairstow.
The 22-year-old Bairstow is a graduate of the Manchester City academy and has spent several seasons on loan at different clubs. Last season he was loaned to Southampton, making 43 appearances in the Championship, scoring two goals and providing three assists, and helping the club return to the Premier League.
Bairstow’s impressive performance convinced Southampton to activate the €23 million buy-out clause in his contract, making the defender a permanent signing.
