Everyone at Nottingham Forest is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Jeff Whitefoot, aged 90.
Jeff made over 250 appearances for Forest between 1958 and 1967, cementing his place in Forest history as the last surviving member of the 1959 FA Cup winning side.
Jeff’s biggest achievement at Forest came in his debut season when Walker’s side beat Luton Town at Wembley to win the FA Cup for the second time, with Jeff scoring the first of his seven goals for the club in the fourth round against his former side Grimsby Town.
Jeff was a key part of the Forest side that contested the top flight for nearly a decade, culminating in their highest ever league finish in his final full season, finishing as runners-up to his former club Manchester United.
Jeff retired gracefully from the game at the age of 33 in 1967, going on to run pubs in East Leake and Oakham with his wife, Nell.
Our thoughts are with Jeff’s family, friends and all who knew him.
Rest in peace.
