July 3 – According to the front page of today’s *Corriere dello Sport*, Premier League side Arsenal are interested in signing Italian center-back Riccardo Calafiori, with Chelsea also keen on the player.
It is reported that Arsenal have already held talks with Bologna over the signing of Calafiori and are prepared to submit an initial offer of €47 million. Bologna, however, are asking for €50 million.
Juventus were previously thought to have reached an agreement in principle with the player, but the Bianconeri deemed the price tag too high.
22-year-old Calafiori played for Bologna in Serie A last season, helping the club qualify for the Champions League. He was a regular starter for Italy at the European Championships, but unfortunately scored an own goal in the match against Spain. His current market value is estimated at €30 million.
