On July 2nd, Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur officially announced the signing of Leeds United midfielder Archie Gray, 18, on a deal until 2030. He will wear the number 14 shirt for Spurs.
The 18-year-old Gray came through the ranks at Leeds United. He made a total of 52 appearances for Leeds in all competitions last season, able to play in several positions, including central midfield and right-back.
Gray’s father, Andy, grandfather, Frank, and great-grandfather, Eddie, were all also members of the Leeds United squad, making Gray a true Leeds native talent.
It is understood that Leeds United did not want to lose this young star but had to sell players to ensure financial balance in order to avoid breaking Premier League Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
According to earlier reports from Romano, Gray’s transfer fee is around £40 million.
