July 11th Manchester United officially announced that they have appointed two Dutchmen: Rene Hake and Ruud van Nistelrooy as first-team assistant coaches, working under Erik ten Hag until June 2026.
Van Nistelrooy played for Manchester United between July 2001 and July 2006, making 219 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring 150 goals and providing 30 assists, helping Manchester United win 1 Premier League title, 1 FA Cup title and 1 League Cup title.
First-team manager Erik ten Hag said: “I am delighted that Rene and Ruud have agreed to join our project, bringing with them a wealth of experience, knowledge and fresh energy. Now is a great time to refresh the coaching team and we are looking to build on what we have achieved over the past two years and take it to the next level.”
