After Manchester United kicked off their pre-season preparations, manager Erik ten Hag, who is staying on, stated in an interview that the club’s goal for the new season will be to win the Premier League and even conquer European competitions.
Following the end of last season, Ten Hag was briefly put “on ice” by Manchester United, and after the club’s attempts to contact other coaches proved unsuccessful, the Glazer family ultimately decided to retain Ten Hag, extending his coaching contract by a year.
After staying on, Ten Hag made bold pronouncements as the team began their pre-season preparations, indicating that their sights are set on the Premier League title and even European glory. “We have now won two trophies, but we want to strive for more and higher achievements, such as the Premier League, and even the European championship.”
Ten Hag, however, acknowledges that achieving this goal won’t be easy. “We understand that this requires a process, it takes time, and we are working hard. With the restructuring of the club and the upgrade to the Carrington base facilities, everything will improve for us, and we are already feeling it. These adjustments bring us new energy and motivation, which will help us achieve our goals. We want to win every game, beat everyone.”
Ten Hag stated that the club’s new structural adjustments will be beneficial for team building. “Since the new owners have arrived, the changes we’ve made in recent times will help us push towards our goals.”
