On July 9, according to ESPN, Manchester United’s second offer for Jarrad Branthwaite was rejected by Everton.
ESPN sources revealed that Manchester United submitted a second bid for Branthwaite, which was worth £50m, but it was still rejected by Everton.
Last month, Manchester United had made an initial offer for Branthwaite, valued at £35m plus £8m in add-ons, which was swiftly rejected by Everton’s hierarchy.
It is understood that Everton values Branthwaite at around £70m, making them unlikely to accept either of Manchester United’s offers.
It’s worth noting that Everton only spent £1m to sign Branthwaite in 2020. The 22-year-old left-footed centre-back made 41 appearances last season, all as a starter, and contributed 3 goals, but he failed to make England’s Euro squad.
