On July 10th, Erik ten Hag gave an interview to the Manchester United website ahead of the new season. He expressed his outlook for the new season and said the team is working hard to return to the top of English and European football.
Ten Hag said: “We are working towards that. I said it, and it’s true: Manchester United haven’t won a trophy for over six years. We have now won two, but we want to win more and higher trophies, like the Premier League title, or even more, like the Champions League.”
“It’s a process that takes time, and we’re going to work on it, but I know that with the setup of the club, the change of structure, the change of infrastructure around Carrington, we will be prepared for the future. We will progress.
“You can feel it here, it gives us new energy, new momentum, and that will help us achieve our goals. In the short term, our thinking is the same: we want to win every game, and we’ve already seen we have the capacity to beat every opponent.”
