Liverpool Football Club officially announced that former manager Jürgen Klopp will be the Honorary Ambassador for the Liverpool Foundation, a first in the history of the club.
Liverpool Football Club officially stated that Klopp has agreed to become the club’s first ever Foundation Honorary Ambassador, and will continue to lend his support to the club’s official charity even after leaving the manager’s role.
Klopp has long been a strong supporter of the Liverpool Foundation’s work, and has said that the Foundation is the best department within Liverpool FC.
After the Reds’ farewell game last season, Klopp donated his signed matchday kit and other items to the Foundation for a charity auction, raising £40,000 in just seven days. Now, his Honorary Ambassador position will enable him to continue to be involved in the Foundation’s various activities.
Klopp said: “The Liverpool Foundation does incredible work within the community, not just in Liverpool but also impacting other areas. I am incredibly proud to continue to work with them and be the first Honorary Ambassador in history. I am excited to see what the future holds, and now I have more time to do it.”
