On July 8, some Manchester United players without international duty have reassembled at Carrington for the first day of pre-season training ahead of the new season.
According to The Athletic reporter David Ornstein, former Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood, who was on loan to Getafe last season, also returned to Carrington today, but his visit was to discuss his departure with the club, and he did not join the rest of the team for training afterwards.
Although Greenwood is still nominally a Manchester United player, it seems unlikely that he will be rejoining the first team, and a summer departure is almost certain.
According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Ligue 1 side Marseille have submitted a formal offer for Greenwood, and are currently leading the race for his signature. Serie A side Lazio are also interested in Greenwood.
