Transfer expert Romano has exclusively revealed that Manchester United have been in contact with Dutch legend Ruud van Nistelrooy, who is in the running to become part of Erik ten Hag’s coaching staff at the club.
Aside from Manchester United, Van Nistelrooy has already held two meetings with Burnley and is awaiting a response from them. It is understood that Van Nistelrooy met with Burnley owner Alan Pace to outline his plans to replace Vincent Kompany.
Van Nistelrooy spent one season as head coach of PSV Eindhoven, where he became known for developing young local talents and guiding the Dutch club back to the Champions League. However, he left last year after disagreements with the Eindhoven board.
As one of Manchester United’s legends, Van Nistelrooy made 219 appearances and scored 150 goals for the Red Devils during his playing career.
