AC Milan have reportedly reached a personal agreement with Emerson on a year contract with a salary of € million

AC Milan are actively preparing for the new season, hoping to strengthen their squad. Brazilian player Emerson Royal has become a major transfer target for Milan.

According to the football market, Milan have submitted a bid to Tottenham, including a fixed transfer fee and a variable bonus, for a total amount slightly above €10 million. However, Tottenham rejected the offer, expecting to receive at least €20 million for the transfer, as Emerson’s contract runs until June 30, 2026.

Despite the significant gap in price, Milan have not given up and are still negotiating with both Emerson and Tottenham, both parties are trying to narrow the gap.

Milan have reached a preliminary agreement with Emerson and his agent team, planning to offer the Brazilian full-back a five-year contract (or four years plus a one-year renewal option) with an annual salary of €3 million.

If Emerson joins Milan, it could affect Florenzi’s position in the team, but the latter is not in a hurry to leave unless he receives an attractive offer. Florenzi’s contract expires on June 30, 2025, with an annual salary of €3 million.

In order to raise funds to complete Emerson Royal’s transfer, Milan may need to sell some players. Adli is a potential sale target, with clubs in Saudi Arabia expressing interest in him. Milan hope to raise €15 million to €20 million from Adli’s transfer.

It is worth noting that Emerson is a non-EU player, which means Milan will need to use one of their two non-EU player quotas to sign him.

Emerson is eager to join Milan, saying in an interview with Brazilian media a few weeks ago: “I want to play regularly, not sit on the bench. I’ve always been professional, but I’ve also told the Tottenham coach my thoughts, I want more playing time, otherwise I’ll consider other options. For all Brazilians, Milan is an iconic club.”
