On July 26th, Dennis Wise, CEO of Serie A newcomer Como, updated his social media to announce his resignation. Subsequently, many fans noticed that Wise seemed to hint in his statement that he was forced out.
Wise’s statement reads as follows:
Leaving Como fills me with immense sadness. I wish the club all the success in the future. It has been an incredible journey for me, and I am incredibly grateful to Como for giving me this opportunity to gain invaluable experience. The team, the coaching staff, and the fans’ support has been overwhelming, and I will forever cherish the memories we created together.
During my time here, we made remarkable progress, achieving the promotion to Serie A, which is my proudest achievement. I want to thank everyone, whose collective efforts made our dream a reality. I am also very grateful for the continued support of our fans, whose passion was the driving force behind our success.
The club has decided to follow the direction set by Fabregas, and I wish the team the best of luck, and I hope Fabregas and the new recruitment team all the best in the future.
While this is my goodbye to you all, it’s not the end. Wherever I go, I will always carry the spirit of Como with me!
