Recently, Napoli striker Victor Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, broke his silence and slammed rumors about his agency and Chelsea’s transfer dealings as disrespectful to the player, urging everyone to “stop spreading fake news.”
Despite being embroiled in transfer rumors, the 25-year-old Osimhen still managed to score 17 goals in all competitions last season. He was particularly impressive in the 2022/23 season, scoring 31 goals to help Napoli win their third Serie A title. Since last summer, rumors of Osimhen’s departure from Napoli have intensified. Chelsea are reportedly the frontrunners to sign the Nigerian striker and are prepared to make a formal offer.
Multiple reports suggest Chelsea are negotiating with Napoli on a deal that would see Osimhen join the Blues on loan, with Lukaku potentially heading to Serie A. Chelsea have been keen to permanently sell Lukaku, having sent the Belgian on consecutive loan spells over the past two seasons.
As Osimhen’s agent, Calenda vehemently denied the loan swap rumors. Calenda said: “I’ve read reports about the alleged ‘dream swap’ for Osimhen, as if he was a package to be delivered quickly. But be aware, this package was the top scorer when Napoli won their third Serie A title. Please respect him and stop spreading fake news!”
