Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb has provided an update on Juventus’ transfer situation. Homegrown defender Daniele Rugani is close to joining Ajax on loan.
Although Rugani signed a contract extension at the end of May, it was simply to prevent the player from leaving on a free transfer and avoid economic losses for Juventus. Rugani is not in new manager Maurizio Sarri’s plans, and Ajax have reached an agreement with Juventus for the defender to join on loan. Juventus will also pay a portion of the player’s wages during the loan period.
In terms of centre-backs, Juventus’ primary target remains Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo, but they will first complete the transfer of their surplus players.
