On August 9, Serie A club Atalanta officially announced the signing of Italian international striker Retegui from Genoa.
Atalanta did not disclose the transfer fee or contract length for Retegui, but reports suggest a fixed transfer fee of €25 million plus €3 million in add-ons. The two parties are said to have signed a contract until 2028.
Retegui, 25, holds both Italian and Argentine citizenship, and later chose to represent Italy in 2023. Last season, he played 31 times for Genoa in all competitions, scoring 9 goals and providing 3 assists.
