According to Sky Sport journalist Fabrizio Romano, Gilmour has officially submitted a transfer request to Brighton, hoping the club will grant his wish to join Napoli.
Romano wrote on social media: “Billy Gilmour is getting closer to joining Napoli from Brighton. The midfielder has requested Brighton to sell him, he wants to join Napoli. Gilmour has agreed personal terms with Napoli, he will sign until 2029, €1.8m salary.”
Gilmour joined Brighton from Chelsea in the summer of 2022 and has made 58 appearances for the Seagulls, contributing 4 assists.
