On August 20th, Juventus concluded the opening round of Serie A with a 3-0 home victory over newly promoted Como.
The first round of the new Serie A season has concluded, with varying performances from the stronger teams. Last season’s champions, Inter Milan, failed to secure a victory in their opening match, drawing 2-2 away to Genoa. Their city rivals, AC Milan, also drew 2-2 at home against Torino.
The other two teams from last season’s top four, Atalanta and Juventus, recorded convincing victories. Atalanta won 4-0 away to Lecce, currently topping the table, while Juventus secured a 3-0 win at home to Como, sitting in second place.
The biggest upset of the round was undoubtedly Napoli’s 0-3 away loss to Verona. They were completely outplayed by their opponents, leaving manager Conte’s debut rather underwhelming.
