According to renowned Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Juventus recently held a positive meeting with Atalanta regarding the transfer of Teun Koopmeiners, who is close to joining the Bianconeri for a fee of around €55-60 million.
The 26-year-old Dutch midfielder is eager to join Juventus this summer and had a falling out with Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini, refusing to train to force the transfer through. While Atalanta are reportedly angered by this, they have agreed to facilitate the transfer.
Schira reports that the two clubs met yesterday evening and had a positive discussion. Juventus were informed they would need to raise their offer to over €50 million, plus €5 million in potential bonuses, which is closer to Atalanta’s initial €60 million asking price.
If this transfer is completed, Atalanta will then sign Danish midfielder Matt O’Riley from Celtic for €28 million.
