Juventus CEO Scanavino recently gave an interview to Turin Sports. Talking about the club’s recent transfer strategy, Scanavino insisted that they would rather cultivate the next Ronaldo than buy ready-made stars.
Scanavino said: “If we take Ronaldo as an example of a top player, then yes, I absolutely don’t rule out top players arriving at any time. Of course, we also want to be able to develop these players ourselves, focusing on young, talented players who haven’t yet fully shown their potential.”
“But as I said, sustainability cannot compromise our competitiveness. Juventus has significant resources, so in terms of economic investment in the first team, we cannot rule out the arrival of top players. In fact, I can say that there will definitely be a top player joining.”
Speaking about new manager Motta, Scanavino added: “We quickly built a good rapport with him, he’s someone with whom we can communicate step by step on all levels. In Germany, we lived together for a week, which was a great opportunity, allowing us to meet several times a day to discuss technical issues, some more general situations, or simply to chat about pleasant things. All in all, he’s an extremely focused, determined, and detail-oriented person, and of course, very ambitious. Moreover, he has a strong personality, and his communication style with the players is very frank and direct, which is very welcome.”
