Juventus has reached an agreement with Nice to purchase midfielder Khéphren Thuram for €20 million, payable in three installments, plus a potential €600,000 in bonuses. Juventus has signed the 23-year-old French midfielder to a five-year contract, keeping him at the club until June 30, 2029. Khéphren’s connection to Juventus and Italy goes back a long time. In 2001, he was born in Reggio Emilia, where his father, Lilian Thuram, was playing for Parma. That summer, the family moved to Turin when Lilian Thuram transferred to Juventus. Now, 23 years later, Khéphren has returned. Khéphren began his football journey near Paris, France. His first club was US Neuilly-sur-Seine, and he later moved to Boulogne-Billancourt. At the age of 13, he was selected to join the Clairefontaine academy, becoming one of the top 20 French footballers born in 2001. After joining Monaco, Khéphren made his Champions League debut in November 2018 against Atlético Madrid. In 2019, he moved to Nice. During his time at Nice, he played 167 games, scoring 9 goals and providing 12 assists. Over those five years, he made the most appearances for the club in Ligue 1 (141) and ranked second in duels won (942). Khéphren made significant progress at Nice, showcasing his physical and technical abilities in recent seasons. His impressive performances earned him a call-up to the French national team under Didier Deschamps, and he made his debut on March 24, 2023, against the Netherlands. After five years with Nice, Khéphren has grown into an international player and can now once again call Turin “home”. Welcome to Juventus, Khéphren!
