On July 12, former Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci spoke about his former club, the Bianconeri, on a show called “Pass dal BSMT.”
Bonucci said: “Since I was a kid playing football, I dreamed of playing for Juventus. Even though I have played over 500 games for Juventus, I still haven’t received a proper goodbye from the club. Over the years I have put Juventus above my personal happiness, above my life, I deserve a proper goodbye.”
Bonucci added: “I made that decision (leaving in 2017 and moving to AC Milan) because I didn’t want to affect the whole dressing room. So I did it, I didn’t want to affect the team, I didn’t want to hurt Juventus.”
Bonucci officially joined the Bianconeri in 2010, making 502 appearances for the club, scoring 37 goals and providing 10 assists. In the summer of 2023 he left Turin to join Union Berlin in the Bundesliga, then briefly played for Turkish side Fenerbahçe for half a year before announcing his official retirement from football.
