UEFA has announced that the draw for the new Champions League group stage will be conducted by computer instead of manually.
The new Champions League season will feature a revised format, with 36 teams competing in the group stage, divided into four tiers with nine teams in each tier. Each team will play against two teams from each of the other tiers. After eight matches, the top eight teams in the overall standings will directly qualify for the Round of 16. Teams ranked 9th-25th will compete in a play-off to determine the remaining eight Round of 16 spots, while teams ranked 26th-36th will be eliminated.
The seeding for the new Champions League season will be announced on August 29th, while the full schedule will be revealed on August 31st.
