On June 24, England captain Kane backed his manager Gareth Southgate in an interview, saying he’s still the right man to lead the team.
Kane defended Southgate, saying: “Without a doubt, Gareth is still the ideal choice to be England manager. I can’t praise him enough for what he’s done for this team. He’s meticulous in the detail, ensuring nothing is missed, and every player knows what they need to do on the field.”
Kane continued: “I think the England manager job is a really tough one, and we all know that. There will always be criticism and questions around Gareth, but his record in recent years speaks for itself, and we’re on the right track to success. He always makes the best decisions and choices for the national team, and all I can do is give him my full support.”
Kane also said he won’t be swayed by the team’s first two group stage performances, and he’ll always back England.
