On June 24th, the Danish Football Association officially summarized the heartwarming initiative of their men’s and women’s national teams auctioning off game-worn jerseys to raise funds for charity. They have raised nearly 300,000 Danish kroner through this auction, with the proceeds going towards helping children in poverty.
The Danish Football Association announced that the men’s and women’s national teams have raised 291,000 Danish kroner (approximately 300,000 Chinese yuan) through the auction of their game-worn jerseys.
The women’s national team’s signed game-worn jerseys were from their match against Spain on May 31st, while the men’s national team’s jerseys were from their group stage match against Slovenia in the current European Championship.
This sum will be fully donated to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and children affected by disasters and war around the world, enough to help 10,000 children and build a total of 250 temporary schools in disaster areas.
It’s worth mentioning that the jersey of Eriksen, who scored a goal against Slovenia, was ultimately sold for 44,511 Danish kroner, ranking first in this charity auction.
