De la Fuente: I’ll stay up all night to study our next opponent because there isn’t much time

In the third round of Group B of the European Championship, Ferran Torres scored the only goal of the game, ultimately helping Spain beat Albania 1-0. After the game, Spain’s head coach Luis de la Fuente spoke to the media.

“We can all have our dreams, but we have to be realistic, being considered a favorite doesn’t guarantee anything. We welcome people’s appreciation for our work and recognize the talent of this generation.”

“Winning all three games, and keeping three clean sheets, is very difficult to do, but we shouldn’t get carried away. In football, even if you’re at the top one day, you could fall into the abyss the next.”

“If we’ve been sleeping only two or three hours a day, now we’ll have to stay up all night because we don’t have much time to study our next opponent. Of course, we still have room for improvement, which is a principle we established in the locker room. We’re not satisfied, this team is very ambitious. But no matter what, we’ll be mentally prepared and give it our all to overcome this challenge.”
