England qualified for the last 16 as group winners with one win and two draws in this European Championship, scoring five points. Despite eventually topping the group, England’s poor performance still infuriated the English media and fans.
In the final group stage match, England drew 0-0 against Slovenia, and a fan in the stands fell asleep due to the hypnotic atmosphere of the two teams on the field.
