Carragher’s social media hacked during England game, ransom in dollars

England drew 0-0 with Slovenia, topping their group. The match was very dull, but there was plenty of drama off the pitch. England’s famous pundit Carragher was hacked on Twitter during the match, causing chaos on the platform.

Carragher’s social media was hacked. The number of followers plummeted from 2 million to 15. His profile page was deliberately replaced with a photo of Gary Neville. His bio read: “I’m $30, give me my account back…”

The last post was just a string of confusing letters and numbers: “$OGUN C28wDWMZicx5fH7Zkk12zzUXkfgHfAoK3SmBJu649pump.” It is unclear who is behind this attack.

Carragher could only clarify on Instagram that his Twitter was hacked and there may be more nonsense on the feed than usual.
