On June 28th, 21-year-old Spanish forward Nico Williams gave an interview with Spanish media outlet Marca, stating that his playing style is greatly influenced by the likes of Ronaldo and Neymar, and that his teammate, Gavi, is similar in style.
When talking about his and Gavi’s performances at the European Championship, Nico Williams said: “We are very similar. When I was younger, I used to watch a lot of highlights of Ronaldo, Neymar, and Robinho. I haven’t seen Robinho play, but I searched for his videos. They were all incredibly talented on the pitch. My teammate Gavi is a great player, and we try to learn from each other.”
He also praised Spain’s current situation at the European Championship: “As a team, no one is better than us. France has a lot of individual potential, and so does England, but as a team, no one is like us.”
Spain’s round of 16 match will be played on July 1st at 3:00 AM against Georgia.
